In this tutorial, we will guide you through creating a new test wallet. We'll use MetaMask as an example, but feel free to use any wallet of your choice.

If you already have a wallet, you can skip to Get testnet node license.

Create a wallet

Step 1 - Install the wallet plugin of your choice.

Step 2 - Create a test wallet

Follow the instruction to create a wallet

For guidance on setting up a MetaMask wallet, visit the MetaMask Getting Started Guide. Once you complete the setup, you should be able to view the details of your wallet in MetaMask.

Get testnet node license

To become eligible as a verifier on the testnet, you must first claim a testnet license. Please visit, connect your wallet, and then click on "Claim Testnet License" located in the top right corner of the page. Follow the instructions provided to complete the claim process.

Once the claim process is finished, you will receive a testnet license key.

Congratulations! You are now ready to contribute to the testnet by delegating to others. For more details on how to delegate, please follow this tutorial.

If you wish to operate your own nodes, please continue with this tutorial to acquire the necessary testnet tokens for node operation.

Get testnet funds

The test verifier nodes are operational on the opBNB testnet. To access testnet funds, you will need to acquire tBNB and bridge it to the opBNB testnet.

Other testnet will be supported soon. Mainnet is not yet finalized to be on opBNB.

Step 1 - obtain tBNB on BSC

As of May 10th, 2024, the BNB Faucet is experiencing issues and is currently non-functional. Consequently, you will not be able to claim tokens from the BNB Chain Testnet Faucet. We recommend trying alternative sources, such as QuickNode Faucet or Chainstack Faucet. We will inform the community and provide updates as soon as the service is restored. You can still try out the delegation tutorial.

Please visit BNB Chain Testnet Faucet and use the address you created earlier to obtain test BNB.

Step 2 - bridge tBNB to opBNB

Visit opBNB Testnet Bridge to bridge your tBNB to opBNB. If you encounter errors regarding the maximum amount, consider manually reducing the amount to ensure a successful bridging process.

Congratulations! You are now set to run verifier nodes on the testnet. You can follow the instructions provided here to continue.
